Manuscript help, book reviews and author interviews
Invictus by William Ernest Henley
The opening poem sets the tone for what ensues as the pages turn. In an age where everyone is “seeking” and “coverting” the life of abundance, according to Steve Harvey, all you need to do is JUMP.
Using little anecdotes and personal experiences, Steve pushes the reader towards taking the leap of faith and fulfilling long forgotten dreams. There are quotes that are sure to resonate with many. Steve makes no bones about quoting his own failures and that’s what piques the interest. However, the overt references to God and what is said in the scriptures, made the book a tedious read(for me). I am all for jumping, but for me, the leap of faith is based on my confidence – in my own abilities to weather the storm.
